There is nothing to achieve here.
Choose a little time. Rest, breathe comfortably, or let your attention wander and return.
A real-time timer, separate from signal playback. No score to lower, no target to meet. The breathing guide is optional.
Find a comfortable pace.
A visual cue only. Breathe gently; use your usual pace if this feels uncomfortable.
Want a little time structure? A focus timer is here when you want it.
One next step is enough.
Inspect the recording and its quality. Keep notes about observations that belong to another moment.
- Name a small, observable next step.
- Stay with it until you pause or finish.
- Leave a note about what comes next.
Activation during effort is not a performance grade. Ratings and markers are your observations; the wearable cannot establish recording quality or its physiological meaning.
You made a little space.
Kept in this page only. Export to keep your notes.
You can leave the numbers out of this pause. Open them whenever curiosity feels useful.
Directional shift · comparison model
A reference, then a reading.
The first two minutes of eligible data become a fixed comparison window.
Synthetic signals are used to explain the method.
The session, unfolding.
Novelty describes an abrupt change; it is not a forecast or a probability. Muted bands mark excluded samples or gaps longer than 10 seconds. The demo clock advances faster than real time.
Quality & moments
Markers are your notes, not model conclusions. Events are unexplained coincident changes; no cause is assigned.
Your wearable, your context.
Using a Hume Band 2.0? Add a daily reading from the app, or open an Apple Health export containing the metrics your Hume app shares. Apple Watch exports work here too.
HRV definitions stay explicit. SDNN, RMSSD, and an unspecified “HRV” are not interchangeable. Daily context never fills missing session channels.
Explore the methods associations · temporal structure · state portrait
Trend association
EXPLORATORYPearson correlation of aligned heart-rate and respiratory-rate samples. Shared trends can create associations. This does not measure respiratory sinus arrhythmia or causation.
Temporal texture
EXPLORATORYLag-1 heart-rate correlation and RMSSD dispersion in the latest contiguous clean window, up to 60 seconds. Neither establishes rigidity or predicts a transition.
State portrait
EXPLORATORYHeart-rate z-score × RMSSD z-score relative to the reference. Two direct axes, no phenotype, embedding, or recovery claim.
Practice notes
Hume Band 2.0
Start with daily context. Hume documents sharing through Connected Apps; availability varies by metric and app version. A native CSV export or direct browser connection is not assumed. Only label HRV as RMSSD when its definition is confirmed.
Hume workflow & limits ↗Apple Watch & other wearables
Apple Health XML keeps the original source and date of each metric. Apple Watch HRV is SDNN; sparse summaries belong in context. Dense, timestamped features from any device can use the documented session CSV / JSON format.
