Free Clinic Finder
In an emergency, call 911. In a mental health crisis, call or text 988.
This page lists places and does not give medical advice.
Nearest clinics
Two separate lists, each nearest first by straight-line distance from the searched point. Each source is searched to its own distance, stated in its list. Every listing needs a phone call to confirm.
Health centers: sliding fee, not necessarily free (HRSA)
According to HRSA (the Health Resources and Services Administration), health centers in its Health Center Program, including look-alikes, charge on a sliding fee scale based on income and family size and provide care regardless of ability to pay. Cost may be reduced but is not necessarily zero. See HRSA Find a Health Center.
Search for a place to list HRSA health center sites.
Possibly free clinics (OpenStreetMap, not verified)
Volunteers tagged these as free, or their name says free. None of them is verified, so call to confirm cost. This is a very small part of the free clinics in the U.S. For a fuller list, use the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics locator.
Search for a place to list clinics that OpenStreetMap volunteers marked as free.
Source status
Each source is checked on its own. A source that fails is marked unavailable; it never counts as zero or as none listed.

What this page does not cover
- Free clinics are mostly missing. A clinic appears in the possibly free list only where OpenStreetMap volunteers tagged it or named it. That is a very small part of the free clinics in the U.S., and none of them is verified. A clinic that is missing here may still be free.
- Tags and names are not proof of cost. A fee=no tag can be wrong, and a name that says "free clinic" says nothing about what a visit costs. A record that is tagged fee=no but also lists payment methods is shown as unclear. Confirm cost with the clinic.
- HRSA lists only Health Center Program sites. That means HRSA-funded health centers and look-alikes. It does not list hospitals, emergency rooms, urgent care, private practices, most free clinics, or VA or Indian Health Service facilities unless they are also program sites.
- Sliding fee is not free. HRSA health centers charge on a sliding fee scale. Cost may be reduced but is not necessarily zero.
- No services or eligibility. This page does not know which services, insurance, languages, appointment availability, wait times or eligibility rules apply, and it does not know whether a place is open or closed right now. Hours shown are only what a source lists.
- Mobile, seasonal, school-based and special-program sites. HRSA lists mobile vans at a base address, some seasonal sites, and some sites that may serve only students, shelter residents or people in a program. Call first.
- Approximate locations. HRSA marks some sites, especially in Alaska, as matched only to a ZIP code. Their distance and map point can be far off, so those cards say so and offer no directions.
- Addresses and websites come from HRSA's records. HRSA standardizes addresses by machine and some website links are out of date. Call to confirm the address.
- United States and its territories only. A place name from another country may match a U.S. place with the same name.
- Straight-line distances. Distances are measured in a straight line from the searched point, not along a route.
- Empty means none listed. When a list is empty, it means none are listed in that source within the distance searched. It does not mean none exist. A source that failed is shown as unavailable, never as none.
Sources and method
Every listing shows its source and data date. Nothing on this page is cached from elsewhere or filled in when a source fails.
HRSA health center sites
HRSA public data from the HRSA Data Warehouse, read from gisportal.hrsa.gov (layer: Health Care Service Delivery Sites). Sites within 10 miles, widened to 25, 50 and then 100 miles only when fewer than 5 regular sites are found (not mobile, seasonal or school-based). Records at the same name and address are shown once, preferring the permanent site. Records named administrative only are hidden. Distance is calculated in your browser.
HRSA data reloads daily; the date shown is the warehouse load date of a related HRSA table, not the date a site was last confirmed. The site list itself carries no date, so this date may differ from when the list loaded. Date: shown after a search.
Free clinics: OpenStreetMap via Overpass
overpass-api.de, tried twice if it does not answer. Places tagged as a clinic or doctor within 15 miles that are tagged fee=no or have free clinic, free medical or free health in the name. Places tagged fee=yes are not listed. Private and no-access places are hidden.
