Unofficial · descriptive global nutrition & food-security atlas, not a forecast. Built on the World Bank's open Indicators API. The latest available year differs by country and indicator, and many countries report child-nutrition surveys only every few years. Not for clinical, individual, or policy decisions.

▤ Child malnutrition — by country (highest first) measured

Ranked across the ~55 most populous countries in this atlas (not all 200+ World Bank economies). Higher burden is at the top. The year column is the latest available reported value for each country and indicator — child-nutrition surveys are periodic, so years differ between rows and a high rank can reflect an older survey. Bar length is relative to the highest value shown. Missing surveys are omitted, never shown as zero.
◇ The double burden — undernutrition alongside rising overweight measuredinterpretive
—
under-nutrition child overweight
The "double burden" is the coexistence of under-nutrition (here: child stunting, or undernourishment for region/income aggregates) and rising child overweight in the same population. World Bank does not publish world or regional aggregates for child overweight or stunting, so the country view pairs each country's own latest stunting and overweight surveys; the region / income views pair the Bank's aggregate undernourishment with the population-weighted average of member-country overweight surveys shown here (a descriptive summary, not the Bank's official aggregate). Years differ by indicator and are shown.
◑ The global divide — by income group & region measured
—
World Bank aggregate series. Only indicators the Bank aggregates (undernourishment, wasting, severe wasting, under-5 underweight) appear here — stunting, overweight and food insecurity are released at the country level only and are shown in the leaderboard and country profile instead. The spark line traces 2000→latest; "change" is latest vs. the first available year. These aggregates are population-weighted estimates, not a simple average of member countries.
